Strike Witches Episode 1

Here’s my review of the first episode of Strike Witches, I was going to do this since some weeks ago. I just saw this episode today and I really liked it, mecha, loli, pantsu, and only 13 episodes I think it’s a good formula for a winning anime.

Obviously it’s an anime just to spend some time if you don’t have anything better to do or if you don’t have so much time for those long running anime, but still a good one for what I could see from this first episode.

Strike Witches episode 1 - Review (Spoiler)
In general this anime starts very good with an episode full of action and a very fast introduction to the character’s story, what I’d wait for a 13 episodes long series. It’s about a girls, named Yoshika, who’s father went to war and never got back, and that’s why she hates war. I don’t see much sense in this war hating thing because the war is not against humans it’s not even an invasion it’s a defense situation against some kind of beings called Neuroi that came from no one knows where and seems to be very aggressive.
Battles are fast and full of action, combine the mecha of the Neuroi and the heavy weapons that the girls use, with the strike witches, girls with special magic powers. The girls fly with help of a special mecha that works as the broom for the witches and don’t use pants. Every air move shot ends with a close up of the girls pantsu.
Yoshika is the kind of hero character that loves others and hate war, with that aura of "chosen one". She have the power of heal people and her magical power is very powerful but she can’t control it. She is the best option for the strike witches special unit.
Sakamoto is the sub-commandant of the special unit. She is the classic though character but she’s a bit more funny than other characters like her, she laughs a lot with that "I-know-it-all-(no-I-don’t)" face and seems to be very kind with others (even when she hits Yoshika twice in this episode but it was more like in a friendly way).
Sakamoto tries to convince Yoshika to join the army, and will use Yoshika’s desire of seeing her father again for it.

I don’t use to like the tough girl character, but this is an exception.
The war seems to be happening en England and there is where they move first. Place where the rest of the girls are fighting the Neuroi, but we can’t see much of them in this episode.
